About Us

African Creations is a small family business from Ghana and UK. We work closely with local artisan basket weavers in Africa (Ghana) to bring you authentic fair trade African baskets.

Our exquisite baskets and crafts are made in areas where there are very few opportunities to grow crops due to unfavourable weather conditions. Basket weaving and other crafts are important sources of income to these families, especially if they can sell them at fair prices in Europe. We are thrilled to play a part in making these beautiful baskets available in the UK at affordable prices.

At African Creations, we believe in trade not aid, as we grow together as partners. Buying your basket from us means we can buy more often and also in large quantities from our partner weavers in Ghana. This provides them with sustainable income throughout the year. They are able to provide for themselves, their family and the educational needs of their children.Every basket you buy from us empowers a weaver.
