Hand Printed African Batik – Orange

This abstract wine patterned african batik is 100 percent cotton. It is soft and feels lovely on the skin. Artists hand stamp the fabric using carved stamps to apply wax to the solid based colour. To create many colours and patterns on a cloth, this process is done multiple times. The wax then forms a resist and the cloth is over dyed.

Each fabric and design is unique and has the personal twist from the artist. African batik fabric is of a high quality hence, suitable for dressmaking, crafting, quilting or any other project requiring a light to medium cotton fabric.

We source all our batik cloths from an artist based in Accra, Ghana.
