Hand Printed African Batik – Dwennimmem

This dwennimmen patterned african batik is 100 % cotton. It is soft and feels lovely on the skin. Artists hand stamp the fabric using carved stamps to apply wax to the solid based colour. To create many colours and patterns on a cloth, this process is done multiple times. The wax then forms a resist and the cloth is over dyed.

Each fabric and design is unique and has the personal twist from the artist. African batik fabric is of a high quality, hence suitable for dressmaking, crafting, quilting or any other project requiring a light to medium cotton fabric.

We source all our batik cloths from an artist based in Accra, Ghana.
